OUR BOARD

Our Board of Directors is primarily made up of volunteers who meet on a monthly basis to make larger organization decisions informed by Our Future’s mission, values, and needs.

  • Chairperson- She/Her

    Darrow is an engineer helping to advance buildings’ transition away from fossil fuels. Since the 2020 derecho storm, she has worked with the Wellington Heights neighborhood on behalf of Our Future to construct a solar and battery system for residents to use in the event of future power outages.

    Darrow also volunteers her time developing school compost programs and hopes to learn even more to implement perpetual multi-benefit solutions to the great ecological challenges of our time.

  • Vice President - He/Him

    Scott is a local activist with degrees in economics, history, political science, and international relations. He also co-founded Sunrise Movement Cedar Rapids before becoming Vice President of Our Future.

  • Treasurer - He/Him

    Chris began his climate advocacy work in 2019 with the Climate Strikers, then Sunrise Movement. He also manages a crew of solar panel installers, implementing clean energy in Linn County.

  • Secretary - She/Her

    Angie is a local artist who is passionate about climate advocacy. She has helped Our Future with their board meetings for over a year.

  • He/Him

    Mike is the Chair of local activist groups including Sierra Club, the Corridor Conservation Coalition, Amnesty International, the Linn Phoenix Club, EcoFest, and more.

  • She/Her

    Tiaja (T.J.) is a former Our Future fellow and a Coe College Alumni. She is deeply dedicated to serving her community and currently holds a teaching position with Leaders Believers Achievers Foundation.

  • He/Him

    Gabriel is a local activist with degrees in graphic design and mathematics. He is also an Associate Director of Enrollment Operations at Mount Mercy University.

  • He/Him

    Tim is the owner of The Full Bowl, a vegetarian restaurant in NewBo City Market. He has experience in the culinary and non-profit worlds, and his passions include local food, nutrition, gardening, and composting.
